We have been examining the Gravitationally Confined Detonation (GCD) mechanism of the Type Ia supernova detonation with multiple bubbles of burning material being present at the outset of the run. Below we have visualizations of this mechanism.
Rayliegh-Taylor Turbulent Nuclear Burning
The physics of buoyant material undergoing nuclear burning is instrumental to the study of the 1a SNe deflagration and detonation mechanisms. To gain a better understanding of how this affects our flame model, we have performed this set of simulations.
